Fingerless Gloves…

I’m a busy blogger today! I have the emptiness of work to thank for that! Thanks Work! Anyway, I am on a quest for a pair of fingerless gloves. I don’t know what it is about them that makes me like them. I think its because they make me feel edgy. Either way, I really want a pair like those pictured above, with individual loops for fingers. However, I haven’t found them anywhere I’ve looked. But to be fair I’ve really only looked at Target, so I guess that nulls my point. Either way I want these so bad. But what I did find at Target was a “arm-warmer” which I’m thoroughly enjoying except for the print. They have a black background and multi colored heats and stars. They kind of look like the ones pictured below, but not as mature. They also don’t come up as high. I feel like and edgy 13 year old, but my hands are warm. I really hope that these fingerless gloves find their way into my Christmas stocking. You hear that ‘Santa’????? When I Googled fingerless gloves I came across this site, Coquette, that had a whole blog dedicated to them, which is where I got these images. Take a look at what they’ve posted. Damn, I really want some of these!! I really want some like the first one, but I’m not paying $ 55 dollars.. but someone else could.. I would like a color to match my scarf too.. OK, let me stop being picky..if someone gets me them I will love them no matter what color!

Things we won’t see in 2009!

I never check my AOL mail, and when I do I get more fascinated with their news pieces than my actual email. AOL usually has the best lists, the top 25 things we never use, or the bottom lotions and why not!!! Those are all things I enjoy. So today I’m finally checking my email (lists) and they had their annual list of things we won’t see next year. So, I am highlighting a few things from that list.

What you won’t see in ’09!

1. Traditional Polaroid Film: I didn’t know they still made this. I remember in high school I had this talking Polaroid, well my grandmother really had it, but I used to buy film and use it. Polaroid film was not cheap, but damn those cameras were huge.

2. Zima: I heard about the discontinuation of Zima a few months ago, but wow, Yeah, no Zima for you drunks out there. They really want you to drink their new Sparks Malt beverage instead. I had that crap.. it isn’t that great. What is with all the lemony-limey flavors? And, isn’t it a proven fact that its lethal to mix energy drinks and liquor (red bull & vodka)??? HHmmmm…

3. the Kinkos name: aawww, no longer will I be able to say, “Well, there’s a Kinkos down the road. I have to say, “Yeah, go use FedEx Office.” WTF boooo!!!

4. Taco Bell Volcano Taco: I actually never had this because I don’t eat beef, and sometimes when TB gets new items they don’t offer to sub chicken. However, I did think this was just a promotional item only, like the Fajita Grilled Stuft Burrito. Damn, now I want some TB, but I’m going to be a good girl.

5. Smokey Chipotle Crispy Fried Chicken @ KFC: WTF is that? I never even saw this. Was this for release only in CA or the south our something? I never even saw a commercial for this. How do you get smokey chipotle flavor to shine through the crunchy goodness of the Colonel’s Extra Crispy?

6. Lehman’s Brothers & Bear Sterns: Nothing much really needs to be said about this… except well.. no, nothing its all already been said. Blame it on the mortgages..

7. Shea Stadium: They have closed to build a new location. What will the baseball world be without Shea Stadium? I drove past it once…. it’s big.

8. AFL (Arena Football League): People watch this? Supposedly it has a die hard fan base, which caused their expenses and debts to rise. IDK, but doesn’t increased fans usually mean increased profit?

9. 25 Banks: All total this year 25 banks failed, the biggest being Washington Mutual and INDYMac.. Once again, the blame the “mortgage crisis” vs. the greedy execs. Bah Humbug!!

10. Linen’s & Things: I don’t know if many outside of Jersey are into this store, hell I barely shop there, but it does make me sad that it won’t be there for my linen needs. I am hoping to try and catch some of their “going out of business” sales for my impending move.

Those are my TOP 10.. Honorable mention in my book include

-Sharper Images stores

-Steve & Barry’s

-Cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper (any missing flavor of the Doc’ isn’t good!)

-DHL in the US

-Bill Blass

Go over to AOL for the actual list because I can’t find the actual link anymore. They replaced it with ” Best Buys Right Now” See, isn’t AOL still good for something!!

Shoes: Carlos Santana Ingenue

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve highlighted a pair of shoes that have caught my eye. So during my yet to be blogged about horrible experience in the Macy’s shoe department I saw these beautiful Carlos Santana boots across the room. I didn’t try them on because window shopping isn’t really my thing and they are nearly TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!! I might try to catch them on a going out of season sale in a few months. But either way, these are the Ingenue. The ones pictured here are brown suede with a little leather seaming detail. Gorgeous! They have this cute little metallic shiny thing at the top too, I don’t know the function of it, but I like it. The heel is about 4 inches, which is a height I love! They also come in a black boot with red detailing. And a camel colored boot which is a lighter brown with an alligator looking embellishment.

I don’t know what it is, but all the boots I’ve been attracted to lately have been brown, even though I would like a new pair of black boots. I did try some black boots on the other day at the evil store known as Bakers, but they didn’t give the look I was going for, and they were too expensive for shoes I know are poorly made. Even these boots, I was more attracted to the brown, nothing against the black, but for me they just look better in brown. One day, hopefully soon, I will fulfill my goals of having rain boots AND black boots, and my shoedrobe will be complete. Yes, a shoedrobe, similar to a wardrobe!

BCBGirls Disaster!

So, today I was browing in the Macy’s shoe department (which was a horrible experience I will detail at a later time) and I came across these shoes.  I sometimes search the clearance racks for various items, sometimes out of season shoes, sometimes just shoes I liked that are now cheaper.  I like to apply various Macy’s coupons to these already discounted prices.  Ok, so enough background.  Take a look at these!! The BCBGirls Lotun.

Horrible abominations of shoes… All these features should not be in one shoes, its just morally wrong! Zipper Mary Jane.. could have worked if solo.  That is how the shoe caught my eye.  I, lately, have had a thing for the Mary Jane variation, and love a good twist.  A little bit of hutzpah (idk if thats the right usage or spelling but I like it so it stays) is always welcome in a good show.  But once I got this shoe into my had, I saw it had this huge chunky heel.  I love a good “sturdy” heel as my friend said, but this was just too much for this shoe.  Its round! Who the hell wants a round chunky heel? Where is the style in that.  And then.. there is this silver ring around it.  How does that work with your star feature – the zipper Mary Jane? How? I am so offended. Sorry Sweet shoe.. .so sorry.  Almost but not quite.  who is the designer over there? I’d love to hear their inspiration for these, because that is the only way to defend this…

Circuit City Don’t Decieve Me!!!

Over the past few weeks there were articles about Circuit City closing 20% of their electronic stores. This made me sad. Circuit City was always my choice over Best Buy, maybe in part because where I grew up it was closer or because they are just a better store. I actually can’t even say I’ve been inside a best buy, because I always seek out a Circuit City. Either way, they are cool with me. So the news made me sad. I felt bad for the employees that would lose jobs, and the monopolization that would occur in the market if Best Buy is left standing alone, because no one shops at Six Ave Electronics, they aren’t as cool. They don’t even sell DVDs and stuff.

So, imagine my disappointment yesterday when I heard they filed Bankruptcy. Now, my first concern was “Oh snap, what about my extended laptop warranty!!!” What will I do! That kinda puts me out a few bucks!! So I had to Google what really happened, and I read that they didn’t file bankruptcy, but bankruptcy protection, Chapter 11. I felt a sigh of relief. And a little bit of joy because this means they are going to have killer Black Friday sales, and I need a new digital camera. Preferably a Canon, so I will be stalking them for a good price. But do people really feel that Best Buy is a better store? I can’t recall ever having been to a Best Buy and I don’t go to places like Walmart ( I don’t support Walmart at all) to buy my major electronic devices. What is the thrill of Best Buy? Is it the cool commercials? They were never located in close proximity to me, so I never felt the need to seek them out. Especially since Circuit City was doing a good job, and as far as websites go, I prefer CCs… am I just biased? No!! Better is Better.
